Black Bear Taekwondo is all about teamwork and respect. Our club, which works with volunteers and a wide range of different people, has a warm and fair ambience. Everyone within Black Bear is equivalent regardless of race, gender, age, religion, culture, etc. There is no distinction to be made on the basis of these differences.
Our dojo is a place where friendships blossom and personal growth is key. For us, taekwondo is more than physical training; it is a way to strengthen the body and mind and develop empathy. Here we build together a close community in which everyone can share and understand their strengths and weaknesses. Together we make Black Bear Taekwondo a place of connection and support.
We distinguish three types of integrity violations:
1. Abuse of power: Corruption, conflict of interest, negligence.
2. Financial misconduct: Fraud, theft, misuse of funds.
3. Interpersonal violations: Discrimination, intimidation, violence, sexual harassment.
All violations or suspicions can be reported to our confidential contact person, who can provide advice. Safety, transparency and fun are core values for all our members and volunteers.
Our appointment policy ensures that everyone is treated fairly and feels safe. New volunteers go through the following steps:
1. Introductory meeting: We get to know each other and discover which role suits best.
2. Signing this preventive and integrity policy: In which our values and rules are confirmed.
3. Signing the Amsterdam Social Safety Code of Conduct: All sports clubs that have a collaboration/relationship with the municipality of Amsterdam comply with the basic rules.
4. Applications for a VOG: This is renewed every three years.
